Inspiring the Next Generation of Doctors

The 1-2-1 Medics team visited Pinner High School to deliver a free talk on getting into medicine - one of the most competitive and rewarding paths a student can take.
With UCAT registration opening in just a few months and the October UCAS deadline approaching faster than most Year 12 students realise, the timing couldn't have been more important.
We wanted to give students something genuinely useful — not a sales pitch, but an honest, practical guide to what the application process actually looks like from students who have just been through it themselves.
We covered the full picture of UK medicine applications - from understanding the landscape and knowing your deadlines, to the details that actually determine whether you get an interview.
On the UCAT, we broke down all five subtests and shared the strategies that consistently separate high scorers from the rest.
On personal statements, our tutors were refreshingly honest about what admissions tutors are actually looking for — and the common mistakes that cost students their interview before they've even sat one.
The highlight was the live MMI practice. Two students volunteered to take on real interview stations in front of the room - an ethical dilemma and a role play scenario.
We closed with a breakdown of interview formats - traditional panel interviews versus MMI circuits. Every student left knowing exactly what to expect from their target schools and how to prepare.

Whether your child is in the early stages of thinking about medicine, actively preparing their UCAT, or needs support at GCSE and A-Level before they even get there - we have a tutor for them!
Are you a teacher or school administrator?
We'd love to bring this talk to your students. Our sessions are free, delivered by current medical students from Oxford, Cambridge and other leading universities, and tailored to wherever your students are in the application process. If you'd like to arrange a talk at your school, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
